Three plain diets with similar effect on the weight loss

The results of a long-term investigation on three different diets show that they give similar effect on the weight loss, while the benefits have different effect on health, announce Reuters.

For the 2-years old period of exploration the participants, which had used low fat, Mediterranean and vegetarian low carbohydrates modification-diet “Atkins” lost relevant 3, 3 kilograms, 4, 6 kilograms and 5, 5 kilograms.

Over 82 percent of the participants, at the beginning of the research, were men with average weight 90 kilograms, said the specialists from university of “Ben Guriyon” in Israel.

„The good news are, that we have an alternative. We cannot consider that one diet is suitable for everyone. If a certain diet does not give results, we can try another” says Ayres Shay from the research team.

The specialists stated that the participants subjected to low carbohydrate diet showed improved cholesterol profile.

For people, suffering from diabetes, the Mediterranean diet is the most suitable for decreasing the level of glucose.

This diet has proved as the most efficient for reducing kilograms for women.
