Why we get fat, after we lose weight.

Scientists from Carolinas Institute in Stockholm receive new information of the mechanisms of regulating the exchange in the fatty tissues.
They affirm that in the human body runs an ongoing process of formation and breakdown of fat cells. When people are overweight form more cells than in those with normal.
The survey of Swedish researchers shows that the formation of new fat cells become lifelong independently of weight - 10% in volume per year, and while the total quantity of cells in fat or thin people remains unchanged.
“This figure is constantly, because each year 10% of fat cells in the body die. In other words, the formation of new cells is balanced at the expense of the disintegration of the old cells,” said head of research Professor Peter Arner.
During the experiments Swedish scientists have developed many new methods of research. Using radioactive markers for cell DNA, they have managed to determine the age of cells and to establish the link between the size of the cell and the total amount of fatty tissue in a large number of people with different weights.
The survey showed that the rate of replacement of cells in people with overweight is twice greater than in people with normal, and it does not depend on whether the person is getting thinner or fatter.
“The obtained results can explain why after we have lost weight it is difficult to keep it, the new cells need also to be filled with fat and for that reason there is a risk the person to restore the lost kilograms,” said Arner.
